Romford is the largest area we cover and easily the most varied. Within a couple of miles you go from Victorian terraces near the market, to nineteen-thirties semis around Rise Park and Collier Row, to post-war estates at Harold Hill and the Edwardian houses of Gidea Park. A kitchen that suits one of those rarely suits another.
We design and fit kitchens across all of it. On a narrow terrace the work is usually about winning back usable space, often by opening into the rear addition. On a nineteen-thirties semi there is normally room to plan properly around a side return or a wider rear opening. We measure, design and fit ourselves, so the person who drew it is the person responsible for it fitting.

A kitchen in a Romford house frequently turns into more than a kitchen. Walls come out, a steel goes in, the electrics need bringing up to standard and the floor has to be levelled before a single unit is hung. Because we work as builders as well as fitters, that is all handled by the same team.
That covers full house refurbishments, loft conversions, extensions, garage conversions and bespoke joinery. One point of contact from the first drawing to the last handle, and most of our Romford work still comes through recommendation.
Gidea Park sits partly within a conservation area, and work that changes the front of a house there needs more care than it would elsewhere in the borough. We keep that in mind at the design stage rather than discovering it later.
Elsewhere in Romford the constraints are more practical: rear additions with poor foundations, chimney breasts that people want gone, and older properties where the wiring has not been touched in decades. None of it is unusual, and none of it should be a surprise halfway through a job.
We also work in Hornchurch, Emerson Park, Elm Park and Chadwell Heath.
Romford is the biggest area we cover and the most mixed. Victorian terraces by the market, nineteen-thirties semis at Rise Park and Collier Row, post-war estates at Harold Hill and the Edwardian stock in Gidea Park all want different things. Here is what we do across RM1 to RM7.
We draw, supply and fit the kitchen ourselves, so the person who measured it is the person who answers for it. On the narrow terraces near the market that usually means winning back space by opening into the rear addition. On a Rise Park semi there is room to plan properly around a side return.
Not every job needs a new kitchen. Plenty of Romford houses have carcasses worth keeping and doors, worktops and appliances that are past it. We refit around what is sound, level the floor properly first, and bring the electrics up to standard while the units are out.
Bathrooms in the older Romford terraces are often a converted rear bedroom or a later addition, which means the floor and the soil pipe decide the layout before anything else does. We survey both before we price, so the quote you get is the one you pay.
Harold Hill and Collier Row throw up a lot of whole-house work: houses bought at a price, needing rewiring, replastering and a new kitchen and bathroom in one run. Doing it as one job rather than five trades in sequence is faster and there is one person to hold responsible.
The nineteen-thirties semis around Rise Park and Gidea Park take a rear dormer well and usually give you a double bedroom and an ensuite. Terraces near the market are tighter and more often suit a hip-to-gable. We tell you which you have before you spend anything on drawings.
Romford gardens are generally long and narrow, which suits a garden room set at the far end with a proper base and insulation rather than a shed with a plug socket. Built to be used in February, not just August.
Draughty single glazing and dropped, sticking doors are the two things we get called about most in the older Romford stock. We fit doors and windows and make the bespoke joinery where an off-the-shelf size will not sit in an opening that has moved.
Rear and side-return extensions are the common ask across RM1 to RM7, usually to put the kitchen and the living space together. We handle the steel, the building control side and the finish, so it is one team from the first drawing to the last handle.
